Direct Drive Pond PumpsThese pond pumps are used when high flow is needed with high lift. For example if you have to run water up a 10 foot hill. Although a strong magnetic drive pond pump can lift 10 feet it, in most cases it will not have the same flow rate once it reaches those 10 feet as a same capacity direct drive pond pump. These pumps are also known to handle solids better so although a pond skimmer is always recommended for submersible pumps, these can be placed in environments without those pond skimmers and perform better. I.E. There is less clogging.
